Kennerleigh Village Stores is the heart of the village and has been run by Sonia since 1989: she celebtrated her 20th anniversary at the shop in style on December 5 2009, when scores of Sonia's friends and customers past and present attended a party given by her in the village hall.

The shop stocks all the products you would expect in a small shop but Sonia is happy to try new suggestions.
Recent new products introduced have been Devon Fair Trade and Ecover, including refills for washing liquid and fabric.
Sonia says: "We like to support local products and stock beef, lamb, chicken, free range eggs, milk, cream and butter and any fresh produce that is around."

Business in Kennerleigh Village Stores came to a halt yesterday (Oct 18th 2010)
as Sonia gave ever-young shoppie, Gwen Lancaster, (left, in green jersey) a surprise birthday party in the shop to celebrate her 60th birthday. Shoppers from all over the district helped her demolish a cake, coffee and biscuits, washed down with coffee and tea.
Gwen confessed to being "overcome" by the event, especially when she went to open the shop on Monday morning to balloons and a birthday placard organised by Sonia at the weekend. Nothing for it, then, but to treat all shoppers to that winning smile as they came in to say
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GWEN!
and thank you Gwen for that big smile every day.
